it’s probably kind of silly but i generally avoid listening to musicians that record under their own name because generally, i am probably not going to be interested. granted, there have been a few that have turned out to be awesome (ty segall, mikal cronin…) but for the most part, i don’t care. this was definitely a pleasant surprise. strangely though, his live show is way more interesting than his recordings, which is something i don’t often come across. i feel like a lot of bands, especially with home-recording technology always progressing, have trouble translating to a live environment, but it’s the complete opposite in this case. so, i guess if you dig this, you will really love seeing him live.
